Ambong Ambong is a group of cottages set amidst a tropical forest.

Perched on a wooded slope of a steep hill, the walk up to Ambong Ambong is a healthy work-out but the stunning view is a fine reward. From each cottage you can get glimpses of the sparkling Andaman Sea and the craggy peaks of the Machincang Range, the second highest peak on Langkawi.

Accommodation

Each Cottage has comfortable seating area both indoors and outdoors- on verandahs with views of the forest and the Andaman Sea beyond. These allow you to sit and unwind, taking in the refreshing forest air and peaceful surroundings.

The charm of Ambong Ambong is in the natural beauty of the surrounding forest; which unclutters the mind, making it conducive to creative thinking and productivity.

Satellite TV and broadband internet connections give you the choice of being as connected to the "outside world" as and when you want to be, as well as the option of just "switching off" and escaping from the outside world for a while.

However you choose to interpret it, Ambong Ambong can just as easily be your ultimate holiday retreat, or your home away from home.

Restaurant

The award winning restaurant has been listed every year since 2005 in Malaysia's Best Restaurant Guide and is known for excellent food, superb service and friendly staff.

Famed for its fresh seafood, the Japanese chef will prepare for you in any of the Japanese styles – sashimi, shioyoki (in salt), terriyaki (with sweet sauce) or teppanyaki.

Unkaizan also offers a wide range of modern and traditional Japanese dishes, sushi and sashimi and excellent grilled steaks, catering to varied tastes from the adventurous to the more simple.

Special menus can also be arranged if you have a special occasion you wish to celebrate.

There is a carefully chosen wine list and a range of specially selected Japanese sakes.

Enjoy the cool sea air and spectacular views of the sunset over the Andaman Sea as you dine on the outdoor terrace, one of the three dining areas.

Alternatively, if you prefer the indoors, there is the air-conditioned main dining room or the air-conditioned Japanese-style dining room upstairs.
