Hotel 1915 with its convenient location on Leboh Ampang, in the
historic downtown area of the city, and its up to date facilities,
has been created with the modern and value conscious traveller in
mind. Occupying an elegant old building, constructed in 1915 and now
freshly renovated, Hotel 1915 has Kuala Lumpur’s rich multicultural
history right on its doorstep, just waiting for you to explore.
Stepping from the bustling Leboh Ampang, one of the city’s oldest
streets, into the lobby of Hotel 1915 one is greeted by the cool and
welcoming calmness of its contemporary décor, natural materials and
muted shades of grey and white. An information counter and internet
stations offer guests the convenience to organise their sightseeing
and other activities in Kuala Lumpur, and making onward travel plans
further afield.
Hotel 1915 could not be better located for those who wish to
explore Kuala Lumpur, its history and its rich culture. The
original settlement which later became the city was founded in
around 1857 at the confluence of the Gombak and Klang rivers. It
developed as a trading post with something of a ‘wild west’
atmosphere, where the Chinese miners prospecting the tin ore
laden sediments of the Klang valley could come to buy
provisions, borrow money, trade and generally let off steam. The
first streets including Leboh Ampang, famous for its ‘Chetty’,
Indian moneylenders and sundry goods traders, grew from this
point. Many of the old Chinese straits style shop houses of
brick and stucco are still standing and doing business today,
the wooden ones though have rarely survived. Most of the city’s
important historic landmarks are also to be found very close by.
The modern décor style extends to the 49 guest rooms, which are
all furnished with either a double or two single beds, a
generously sized flat screen television, fold away writing desk,
wardrobe and room safe for valuables. En-suite bathrooms are
fully equipped with chic, stylish fixtures and fittings, most
welcoming after a long day’s sightseeing. The hotel premises
including all guest rooms has free wi-fi coverage, for those who
require broadband connectivity.Guests are assured maximum levels
of security too, with CCTV in all common areas of the hotel and
access to each floor and room only by key card.Although Hotel
1915 does not itself have a restaurant, guests can however enjoy
a huge choice of restaurants, all within five minutes walk of
the hotel offering the extensive variety of Malaysian cuisine
and also most popular Western fast foods.
